He is a professor at the Russian-Armenian University and an adjunct lecturer at the American University of Armenia (AUA). Arsen has 23+ years of experience in biosciences and bioinformatics, including wet-lab and computational aspects of human genomics and gene editing. Arsen has published more than 130 papers and has filed two patents. He has got a DAAD Research Stay Award, a Cardiff University International Collaboration Award, and a Royal Society International Joint Project Award. In recent years, Arsen has co-led the development of the roadmap of the Armenian Genome Project and has led the national COVID-19 test production in Armenia. Arsen acts as a founding board member of ABI.
