Introduction to Bioinformatics

Arsen Arakelyan

Arsen Arakelyan, Ph.D., DSc, is the Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB) Armenian National Academy of Sciences, head of the Bioinformatics Group and the Human Genomics and Immunomics laboratory at IMB. He is a professor at the Russian-Armenian University and an adjunct lecturer at the American University of Armenia (AUA). Arsen has 23+ years of experience in biosciences and bioinformatics, including wet-lab and computational aspects of human genomics and gene editing. Arsen has published more than 130 papers and has filed two patents. He has got a DAAD Research Stay Award, a Cardiff University International Collaboration Award, and a Royal Society International Joint Project Award. In recent years, Arsen has co-led the development of the roadmap of the Armenian Genome Project and has led the national COVID-19 test production in Armenia. Arsen acts as a founding board member of ABI. (Google ScholarORCID)
